In order to communicate the estate’s philosophy to wine lovers not yet familiar with estate, and to help make a lasting impression of its wines La Porta di Vertine’s labels now all come with the addition of a QR code.
A QR Code is a two-dimensional matrix barcode, which can be “read” by mobile phones with a camera, and smartphones. It consists of black modules arranged in a square pattern on white background, and can encode all kinds of texts, including URL. Smart phone users can download a free QR code application. After having taken a photo using the application and the phone’s camera, the code directly links to the wine’s information via the internet.
La Porta di Vertine decided to use the QR code on their labels to help wine loversremember and archive the wines on their smart phone without having to go through the trouble of peeling off the labels, and have the wine’s name, grape variety and origin immediately available in any situation, especially when searching for the wines online and in wine shops, or when making recommendations to other winelovers.
